[ He's spent a great deal of time since arriving exploring the various levels of this ship, but none so often as the library. The sheer amount of knowledge presented in this place is impressive to say the least, a treasure to be guarded taken advantage of.

Thus, for a few hours out of the day, he can be found in a quite corner with a pile of large tomes, mostly historical or magical in natural. ]

[ He has visited this place a couple times, mostly out of curiosity given the room's unusual qualities. Today, a less than pleasant scene greets him. It's a wasteland that stretches as far as the eye can see with dark clouds roiling overhead.

He doesn't linger long. ]

[CTS]

[ For those who choose to visit the CTS this afternoon, there will be an old man in blue wielding an unusual blade.

His opponents?

[ This, of all the places on the Barge, is his favorite. The stars, which are familiar friends by now, wink down from the heavens as the ship toils on through the Lanes Between.

He watches them for a long time, and occasionally, he gestures at them. ]

[ He doesn't know the reason why she is here so he can't know for certain how responsible she may be with whatever ability the Admiral has left her with.

Might I ask what field of magic you're most familiar with?

[She thinks a moment, trying to determine what best to call it to someone unfamiliar with it.]

It's called the Psalms, but perhaps it could be described as a kind of incantation magic. The words of the holy Psalms spoken with intent by those who are specially opened to them have power to effect changes.

[ He sits up a little straighter. He's never heard of such a thing, not even in all his years of study...though it smacks, somewhat, of naming magic. ]

What sort of changes?

[She draws back just a little from his enthusiasm.]

Leave messages, track people, change people. [a bit of a pause] It could even kill people outright. The uses were numerous, but not everyone used it the same way.

[ It's not so much enthusiasm as curiosity. It's a rare day indeed that Yen Sid gets 'excited' over anything, whether it be positive or negative.

He clasps his hands together, apparently deep in thought. ]

I see.

[ A beat. ]

I cannot say I am familiar with that particular sort of magic -- or at least not by that name.

[ He looks at her. ]

You said it was tied to the words of these 'Psalms'?

Yes, the words from the book of Psalms in the Bible. It may be fairly rare. There were only a handful of people I knew who could do it, and most of them were of royal blood.

[ He strokes his beard thoughtfully. ]

I may seek it out one of these days.

[ He is always willing to learn something new. ]

I'll tell you what I can... I can't open anyone to them, though. Not like this. [Whatever of her magic she has, she's pretty sure the Admiral wouldn't let her make other Poets. She isn't certain she'd want to anyway. It's almost a sacred thing to her.]

[ He raises his hands briefly. ]

I would not expect you to. I am merely curious about the writings themselves.

[ He's poured through many manuscripts on magic, history, and legends over the years, and the lore surrounding her own magic has piqued his interest.

He nods once in greeting. ]
